At this squadron we do many activities, such as shooting, flying, adventure training, parades and so on. We have modelling competitions, air recognition competitions and more.
Shooting we do at camps and sometimes as a squadron with two different rifles. The first is the .22 rifle, a single shot bolt action rifle and the L98 Cadet Weapon. When shooting you can gain two qualifications, the ATC Marksman and the RAF Marksman.
Flying and gliding we do relatively often at RAF Cosford, flying the Bulldog powered aircraft or the Vigilant powered glider. You can do aerobatics and may even get to land the thing!
Adventure training is organised both as a squadron and at Swynnerton Training Camp every year. (See events to come.) During adventure training we are taught the art of camouflage and concealment, carry out night exercises and so on.
Parades are undertaken annually, mainly on Remembrance Sunday where we march through Walsall with the rest of the uniformed organisations.
Sports are also regular as a Squadron and Wing Athletics/Swimming/Football/Netball/Rugby etc… are all annual events where cadets compete to represent the Wing in the sport.
The modelling and aircraft rec. competitions are held annually around October time, where squadrons compete in the above areas against each other.
